Formosat-2 Header

Formosat-2 is the first remote satellite developed by the National Space Organization and was launched on May 2004. Specifically designed to conduct remote sensing imaging over Taiwan and on terrestrial and oceanic regions of the planet, the Formosat-2 satellite was designed with a high resolution of 2 meter panchromatic data and 8 meter multispectral satellite image data.

Formosat-2 is also known to be the first and only high-resolution satellite with a daily revisit capability, overcoming this obstacle to provide a new response to various surveillance needs. The ability to acquire repeat imagery of an area of interest every day with the same sensor, from the same angle and under the same lighting conditions guarantees a timely flow of compatible data.

Available for 2m and 8m resolution in both black and white and color imagery with scene coverage of 24km by 24km, the Formosat-2 imagery systems are best for map scale at 1:10,000 to 1:25,000.

Certeza offers the Formosat-2 imagery system. This intelligent system allows us to support a wide range of applications including, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Land distribution
  • Natural resources research
  • Forestry
  • Environmental protection
  • Disaster prevention
  • Rescue work
  • Observation of natural phenomena
  • Scientific experiments
